Connections at Porsche?

I have recently lost my job and am looking for a new position as a mechanical or manufacturing engineer. I have a BSME from UCSD and 6+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry. I have also been working on cars both profesionally and as a hobby for the past 16 years.
I have applied for all of the relevant positions at Porsche with no results or responses. I know in this industry that it's often less about what you know and more about who you know. So... as a club does anyone know someone in the industry that I could write, meet, and hopefully get a recommendation letter from?
