5 Points?

I have heard that the autocross chairs were going to give 5 points to the people who showed up early before the last autocross was cancelled?

Although generous, I'd like to point out that historically if an autocross was cancelled before 9:00 am (and before we paid the stadium and before registration fees were collected) it was simply a "cancelled event" with no points. If an event was started, thus incurring stadium fees and registration fees for the participants, but was cancelled before timed runs, everyone who paid registration fees were given 5 points.

Please don't penalize those of us who were smart enough to stay in bed! :D

Thanks, Gary

Hey, I'm worthless and weak, but it's also a two hour drive. If the event was cancelled it was cancelled. I was prepared to stay out of the points had it gone on.
Anyways... "Concur"

I think we should get the points for showing the courage and effort to want to try and get it in!

I agree with Gary, if the event does not start, then no points.
If you want points, then you would also need to pay your registration fees
If the event starts and we pay for the track and you pay your registration fees and don't get to run timed laps, then you get your 5 points

If we don't run, you don't get points. Thanks to the truly dedicated that showed up, but to be fair, the event has to take place before the points are given. Especially in the rain :(

What if you prepaid? Does it roll to the next one or is it a donation???

The way I understand it, everything is cancelled when the event is. If you prepaid, your check is torn up. Your credit card is not charged. Do it all over again for the next one.

Anyone can feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but that is how it has gone in the past.

Tom, you're correct. Each A-X event is processed on a single-event basis. If the event is cancelled, payments are voided (pre-paid checks, CC.'s, etc). Each event requires payment/pre-payment. No roll-over payments or credits. Pay as you go.

Time to start practicing the Sun Dance. Enough of this rain for a few weeks.

I'm contemplating a snorkel for my MAF and tire-to-propeller conversion kits for the Great White Water-Bucket. How many points for a fog-horn? Will that put me in FI?

RE: Pre-pay

A few requests were made that morning to have payments applied to the next event, those have been honored. It's never too early to register for the next AX. :)

All other forms and checks have been shredded.

cheerily yours,
Stephanie

I like the idea of autocross chairs giving 5 points to drivers who showed up that weekend. My 5-points are starting to get old and will need to be replaced soon. I hope they give the ones with the cam-locks. In red. Thanks.
