"Wounded Warrior Tour!!!

If ever you've wanted to thank our gallant men and women serving in uniform for their many sacrifices and services for our nation, please join us on Saturday, December 1, 2011 for a two-hour romp through some of the most spectacular country side in San Diego County.

At 8:15am our PCA/SDR volunteer Porsche drivers will assemble at the Veterans Museum and Memorial Center parking lot at Park Blvd and President's Way (2115 Park Boulevard), near Balboa Naval Hospital. Following a short brief of events, we'll proceed to the main parking lot at Balboa Naval Hospital, load up about 40 Wounded Warriors assigned to the hospital, and launch out.

Keith Verlaque has designed a stunning route through the hill country of East San Diego - drive time approximately 2-hours and 20-minutes.

About noon, we'll arrive at the Marine Corps Leatherneck Aviation Museum on Miramar Way for a catered lunch. Details are still in the works, but drivers should plan to buy their own lunch @ $10 per person. The Wounded Warriors will, of course, eat for free.

This promises to be an extraordinary opportunity to pay tribute to our 1st line of defense and especially to those who have sacrificed far more than their time.

If you wish to sign up as a volunteer driver, please respond prior to Sunday, 25November2012 to duck10@san.rr.com with Name, Porsche color, model, year, and license plate number.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to show to these young men and women we care.

All gave some. Some gave all!

Respectfully, Don Auten
PCA/SDR Military Liaison

This is an outstanding event to be a part of and thanks to Don for setting it up. It seems to get better and better each year. I had to miss last year but made it the year before and can truly say it is one of the most enjoyable and fulfilling events I have been part of in this club. Please mark this down on your calendar and sign up early with Don to support this great event!

If I can get Tuffy back up on his paws by then, and we have a warrior who wants to ride in him for that length of time...count me in! :D
