Porsche of San Diego to the Rescue!

Well, Sammy (my Cayenne) developed this serious grinding noise all of a sudden Friday morning
on my way to work and then Streets of Willow. With Snickers on the trailer, I pulled in
to Porsche of San Diego's Service line. Unhook the trailer, and have them test-drive
Sammy. Turned out to be the front differential (out of oil - it was reported earlier,
and I overlooked it - sheez!). Obviously not a quick repair.

I figured I'd get a rental car or loaner, and have to skip the Time Trial :(

Best case, I could bring the muffler and headlights (and a parka!), have them put them on Snickers, and drive him to Streets!

Well, Ray and Larry were great! They found a loaner Cayenne with a hitch, had the service folks install a trailer connector
that matched my trailer's cable, and gave it to me as a loaner car. I transfered all my racing gear, and was on my way in
less than an hour. Towing was just like Sammy, and everything worked perfectly! :D

I was amazed at their committment and quickness to solving my personal problem.
But these guys aren't just helpful and friendly, they really understand racers.
When I said I was going to Willow, Ray asked me if it was Streets or the big track!

Anyhow, big thanks to Porsche of San Diego for making my weekend a successful pleasure instead of a frustrating nightmare!

Sheesh, couldn't they loan you a pit crew to change your tires at the track, too?
 :beerchug:

That's very nice to hear, Paul. I firmly believe every Porsche dealership should be actively supporting their local Porsche club driving events. The reciprocity between dealership and PCA Region is an entity that feeds itself and grows both.
