2013 California Festival of Speed Time Trial Registration

Registration for this event opens February 18 at 7:00 pm. For the first time ever, this Time Trial is on the calendars of both PCA Zone 8 and POC, and thus provides the opportunity to award points for the yearlong competitions of each Club. As a result, demand is expected to be extraordinarily high.

Some facts you should know:
• A maximum of 90 drivers will be accepted for the CFOS Time Trial
• Last year’s PCA-only event had attendance in the mid-60’s
• With the addition of POC we expect all those in the hunt for points with either Club will sign up ASAP and thus sell the event out quickly, possibly within minutes of opening for registratio
n

What you can do to maximize your chance for a spot on the grid:
• Classify your car now on http://zone8.pca.org/CarClass/Default.aspx and write down your class and point category totals
• Add February 18 at 7:00 pm to your calendar right now and set an alert so you are reminded to register
• Take some time today to slowly and carefully read the two information pages that are available now at http://msreg.us/CFOS13
• Know your MotorsportReg.com Username and Password (sort out any issues with that now)
• Be sure the car you will drive at the Festival is entered into MotorsportReg.com, including your AMB Transponder number
• Register at 7:00 pm on February 18 at http://msreg.us/CFOS13 if you are a properly credentialed Driver (i.e., non-Student)

PCA Season Pass holders please take note:
You have attendance requirements over the course of the year in order to maintain your Season Pass status. Failure to attend a sufficient number of events will result in financial penalties. Being Waitlisted for this event due to not signing up as recommended above will not be considered to excuse you from these requirements.

All drivers please note:
The Festival of Speed is a Time Trial and Club Race, not a Driver Education event, thus prerequisites are required. See the registration website information pages for details and limitations on Time Trial Student sign-ups. All registrations are taken first-come, first-served, subject to the criteria outlined on the registration website, with your registration order determined when your online registration file is complete, so a partial registration has no standing. There are a limited number of garages and Saturday BBQ dinner-at-the-track tickets so decide now if you will sign up for them when you register. Each driver can only register once, and all changes and corrections must be done by e-mail, so it is to your advantage to answer each registration question carefully and completely before finalizing your online entry.

"A maximum of 90 drivers will be accepted for the CFOS Time Trial"

90 cars in two run groups...that will be an experience...kind of like NASCAR - hopefully without the bumpin', bangin' and Danica

Comparable TT numbers were experienced at the 2006 Festival, with no significant issues or driver dissatisfaction.

There’s a problem with MotorsportReg.com, the company is aware of it and working on a solution. We’re got the registration timestamp of everyone who is signing up, which for now is the most important thing. We'll sort out anything we need from drivers once things are fixed.

Thanks for the update, Robert. I was worried that I was at the back of the line before registration was even 10 minutes old!

The issue we're experiencing now has to do with garage rentals. In order to allocate them fairly among TT'ers and Club Racers it was necessary to Waitlist everyone who signed up for one. That doesn't mean you're Waitlisted for the event, just the garage, and only because we haven't assigned ANY of them yet to anyone. Over the next few days, we'll create a master sort of all TT and CR drivers by the time of registration, then allocate garages in order. As that happens, registration statuses will be updated to Confirmed.

As of 9:50 pm 61 people have registered and all of them who are non-Students and have the proper credential will eventually be Confirmed for the event itself. So if you are one of those people, please bear with us while we sort out the garage situation.

Hi Robert,

Looks like there is still some room for Time Trialers. Is that correct? I am about to hound a couple folks...

Thanks,

Chet

Correct. The event is close to capacity, but there are still some spots left.
