Come on out for our PCA Club Race, Zone 8 Time Trial, and DE being held at Spring Mountain Motorsport Ranch NV May 3-5. This is a fantastic track and the weather is expected to be excellent. Still some room on the grid for all three events so sign up today!

Porsche Factory driver Patrick Long will be guest speaker at the dinner both Friday and Saturday night and is offering a cornering clinic to interested drivers. Where else can you get personal coaching by one of the top pro drivers in the Porsche stable. Wow!! :burnout:

Make this a complete Porsche Safari by driving Fri, Sat, Sun at Spring Mountain, and catching the DE at Fontana Infield Monday on the way home. :beerchug:

Event update for drivers who want Patrick Long Corner Coaching or still need accommodations at SM:

We have several slots still open for the Patrick Long Corner Coaching (the classroom only part got plenty of requests), so we decided to open it up to the Time Trial group. Tony will make sure the schedule has Club Racers and Time Trialers running back to back, so that when TTers come off the track, they’ll have 15 minutes to get to the classroom with the Club Racers for the classroom part.

We also have 4 on site condos available – doubles- First come, first served.
To get one of the remaining condos OR to sign up for the Patrick Long Corner Coaching, drivers MUST CALL / EMAIL SUESAN ASAP <SuesanWay@pobox.com>

For those drivers curious about the track configuration, it is called the "outer perimeter plus the loop and bus stop". I am guessing this means "3.1 and change". I have not actually seen it on Google Earth but it should be very familiar to those of us who have run there in the past.

I was told it's 2.9 miles; Fewer corners, longer straights.

Speaking of which, I was hoping Pat could provide some Straight Coaching too.
With this configuration, I'm gonna need a lot of help going fast on the straights! :roflmao:

:roflmao: You funny Paul. Last time I followed you, your straight line work looked pretty fast.

Long range NOAA weather forecast looks like highs 85-90F and lows 50-55F. I can work with that. See ya in the grid!

A fun weekend was had by all with some drivers hot boxing their cars in both the racing and the Time Trial. Patrick Long brought an interesting twist to our typical events and many drivers took advantage of his corner coaching clinic.

We currently have raw times and significant data processing is needed to verify drivers, sort into classes etc. due to using the Spring Mtn. timing system that is not set up for PCA TT. We should have final TT results in a couple days. Thanks for playing!

Dave -

Thanks a lot to all for putting on a great event. Is there a chance of posting scans (pictures) of the raw data that you have?

Thanks again for a wonderful weekend at a fantastic facility.

Phil

And, a big, BIG thanks to Dan Hockett for letting me drive his Boxster in timed runs, especially after seeing me break my own car. That takes some kind of something - not sure what. But, I did, and still do, appreciate it.

A well run event, Dave, and while it was officially a Las Vegas Region event, I'm sure Gran Prix Region deserves much of the credit. :beerchug:
