Weighing cars at Fontana

I hope I'm not shooting myself in the foot here, but I was wondering if there is a possibility that we could either mandate, encourage, or offer the use of the club racer scales for the time trial cars.

This event is the only one on our calendar where we run both a time trial and club race. And, the club race guys always have scales there to weigh cars.

We could do it at a time that is out of the way of the club race tech, and it would even be convenient to weigh them with full fuel load (which is what we are supposed to conform to), since most people fuel up in the mornings.

Bob,

Most of the time the scales are open all day as long as there is someone there manning them. I don't know this for sure, but I see no reason why they wouldn't let you pull your car up on the scales. I doubt very seriously that it will be mandated though.

Bob,

Monday Steve G. will put my car on the scales, so I will finally know the exact weight. :? Not sure if I should keep those numbers secret or not yet :D. Because Burl may ask me to carry a sandbag or two in my car :D :D

I will be happy to go on the scales.
I did weight last year and with 3/4 of a tank was just under 3500#
I will see if some off-season dieting has helped (the car that is)

At the Road and Track Tech Session, with zero gas, compared to Greg I came in at a featherweight of only 3250 (with driver) .

By Fontana I hope to be sub 3000 lbs thanks to the annoyance of Bill, Martin and Bob :P

At least Fontana is a real track, so if I can get through the parking lot on the way to the track, Dan A and Curt are too slow to worry about

I'm going to be really slow that weekend Jad, I'll be on foot. I'll probably be walking at 5 year old speed too with my son.
:D

Yes, I have a feeling that your 944 Turbo S will be pretty fast at Fontana.

I can't remove much more without some serious work, next step will be replacing parts with litgher once. :?

I can't beleive how heavy wheels are 190 pounds for the 996/986 Wheels (8 1/2 and 7") with Kumhos Victoracers and the Borret (9" and 7 1/2") 216 pounds.

The only time I will need to worry about you in the mirrors is when Amy is driving a cool down lap - then you may be able to keep up with me ... and maybe pass Curt and his 5 year old on their walk- but wait for his signal as it may be close

my car has been weighed (POC weighed all time trialers at ButtonWillow in December). I'm legal with the 19 points that I'm taking (yes, barely fitting into KP......)
