If people want to "try" and go fast, download and watch over and over, and over. BTW are the Porsche's going slow for visual effect?

One of the racing license excercice in the new very realistic "Gran Turismo 4 for Playstation"game is to go around the Ring in less than 10min in a Mercedes EVO 190 behind the pace car.

I sent the site for the video to my Brother yesterday. He told me that he had made a 7 min lap on Playstation, which was quicker than Hans Stuck. I told him to get a car (and a life) and do it for real!!

I have a friend who is a champion for Sony PS Grand Turismo 4.
I showed him the Ring video, and he showed me his BMW GTR PS video. If you haven't seen this game, you should check it out. The realisim is impressive. We checked and most of the trees even match. You can watch both videos side by side and see how close it is. The cars even suffered a similar 'step out' on surface changes from concrete to asphalt.

The game video has a slightly "suped-up" BMW GTR, as you can see when it out accelerates Hans in the straights. But, it was interesting to see that Hans got several seconds ahead in the twisty section near the end. (Hint: use pause to keep synced)

Here is a link to his video.

Also, it requires a codec that you may have to download first.

Requires DivX codec for Windows Media Player:

He said that it also has Laguna Seca and Infinion tracks. Now if we can just get them to add Buttonwillow before the next event...

I know I was hoping to find the California Speedway :D , GT4 is so realistic that if would help to get familiar with the track.

Martin, it will not take you long to get use to the track. There are just a couple of areas where there are choices and the rest is pretty straight forward. Bring your cajony holders though, straight forward does not mean boring
