Shipping overseas

Hello everyone! It's been a long while since I've posted on the forum. Heck, it's been a while since I participated in an SDR event. I hope everyone is doing well.

I hope you all do not consider it rude for me to pop in out of nowhere and ask a question.

It looks like I'll be spending a significant amount of 2014 in the Stuttgart area with my soon to be bride. So I was pondering the idea of bringing my Boxster back to the motherland. I realize shipping and licensing are two completely separate things. Shipping very likely a lot easier than licensing particular car. But I was just curious if anyone has any experience with, and would recommend an overseas shipping company for something as fragile and my precious Boxster?

Thanks and blessings from (currently) England.
Mike

See if you can connect with Don Traver. He has been shipping his RS America back and forth over the past few years.

Thanks Greg! And thanks for pointing me to Don, I'll send him a PM.

Mike,

Sent you a PM. I've shipped three 911s overseas over the last 15 years, but always as part of a sale (to a new owner) not to use them there myself. Don would definitely be a good resource for that kind of transport and the necessary documentation.

I can tell you that the different shipping brokers specialize in shipping to certain countries, so it depends on where you want the car to go (what port you want to pick it up in). Do your internet searching for a shipper based on the desired destination.

Congrats on your marriage!
