Today is my dad Tom's 83rd birthday! He's doing fine and will be living up in Woodland Hills, just north of my sister's place in Topanga Canyon. Talked to him on the phone today and he said to say hi to the club. That guy hardly missed an AX in the 15 years he was running. :D

That is most impressive, and disturbing. He was beating up on people when he was over 80 years old. I miss his drivers’ meeting safety speeches which would always include this exact sequence “…we’ve got a good track today, it’s a fast track…”. Happy Birthday Tom C.

Big Happy Birthday to you, Tom!! My dad's was yesterday; he's 86. Great to see men of honor living well in their Golden Years.

Best Wishes to The ARTTB Captain!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOM :beerchug: I MISS YOU!

Do remember the time when we were at Holtville and you gave this lowly 356 guy a ride in your 911. You were showing me what a well set-up flat 6 could do. I yelled over to you why there was a RED light on the dash? Turns out there were no brakes, scared us both  Thank goodness airports have long runoffs. :)

Here's a reply back from my dad, who doesn't have a password anymore to get onto the forums?

"Very nice comments and Bd greetings,,,, And Gary Burch didn't even say anything about being "old and wormy". Nice runs by Reinhart at Chuckawalla,,,he be an outstanding 'shoe'!.
I do miss the bunch and the routine,,,the bickering ,,not so much.
I don't have a password (that I remember anyway) so please get on the site and convey my very best to all who extended BD greetings. Thanks, Dad"

Now, it's off to Willow Springs to rent out a race car. 25F is the overnight low! Better bring my nomex underwear.

Happy belated birthday Tom, just not the same in Tech without you.
For those who don't know, Tom was the running tech when I started volunteering in (the early 90's ???) and thought I would help out for a season...
Tom-There is always a spot for you at the 7:30 late fee enforcement line!
