Hi PCASDR,
I am looking to get vintage care insurance with stated value for my '84 Carrera and '93 RS America.
Are there any recommendations?
I have looked at Hagerty and Leland West that advertise with the club, but I'd like to hear the issues, if any, that I should be looking at.
Thx Steve

Hi Steve,

I've used quite a few different companies for agreed value insurance on my cars over the years and ended up with Leland West because of their PCA member discount. Besides Hagerty, I've tried Barrett-Jackson, Chubb, and Grundy in the past. Almost any insurance company will get you an underwriter for this type of insurance these days, but there are different requirements for storage and use of the cars with each one. Cost can vary wildly.

Probably the most important aspect of any insurance policy is how you are treated when you actually have to make a claim. I have never had to do that, so I can't speak to that issue.

Good luck!
TT

I recently dropped LW and went with hagerty, primarily because LW and others can exclude coverage if damage occurs during "errands".
I specifically asked if something like going to the gas station was an errand and they would not give me a direct answer.
I went with hagerty even tho 25% more $$$ because they had no errand exclusion.

They also recently paid on a claim that I submitted with minimal hassle.
do i love hagerty? no.
but
i'd say the same for all insurance companies.
