SPring Mountain track configuration ?

I noticed that we are going to run the 4 mile configuration. Looking at the website I see the proposed track layout but assume that we are going to run clockwise and shoot out where the second sweeper is, then return all the way along the back rejoining after the tight stuff on the 2.2 mile configuration?

If so that back stretch is going to be tricky coming down hill and turning left into the brake zone. It was already somewhat tricky to drive flat out without a long run, now it is going to be wildly fast! Comments?

Got my attention too. The new layout looks like more of a hp track.
A little brake check before the left dogleg may be required.
With the new longer straight that may be a well into 5th gear brake zone.
Looks like a lot of FUN. :D

I dunno. Hard to tell from the photo but it does not look like a complete straight shot. Looks like a slight left jog (possibly a chicane?) where the new track meets with the old. It's going to be faster sure, but that may slow some of you ultrasonic guys down enough where you don't miss T7 (or whatever the new number will be) altogether and wind up in Vegas (or would that be Area 51?).

Mike remember that tank slapper you did going to the left at the end of that straight? yea, the one where I was riding with you ! Yikes!!! You recovered well but at these higher speeds it might be more of a challenge

Yes, I do recall. Was that last year or the year before?

Seems that track always has some sort of excitement for me. I think it was 2003 when Greg got the pic of me "coming out of T2" in a cloud of dust. Forever imortalized in the Witness :? .

I agree it is going to be a different challenge that we are used to. The good news is, if we decide we like it better the other way we can go back to it. Maybe if we get enough interest we can convince the powers-that-be that 2 BRP and/or 2 SMMP in different configurations is a good idea.

OK, maybe I did make it through last year with no exciting incidents.

Maybe I'm missing something but the TT site doesn't show a track map. Where can it be found?

The PCASDR Tech page usually has information and video about each of the upcomming away track events in the pre-tech section.

http://www.pcasdr.org/tech/index.html

This time there is track website, short course video and trackmap posted.
