1979 SC spare parts?

What spare parts and/or special tools should one have in the trunk when taking an 1979 911SC on road trips?

such as: belts/relays/fuses/fuel pumps/Porsche special tool number 67, etc.

Anything?

Roadtrip!
Tom- 911SC's hardly ever break so you are good...
But if something were to happen I would want the following items:
Assortment of ceramic fuses (these old fuses can be hard to find).
A spare window switch. They are a weak spot and can blow the fuse for all the windows.
Locking a car with the windows down is far less effective.
Spare fan belt and the correct wrench and fan holder tool to replace it on the road.
Six inch piece of 10-14 gage wire with 1/2 inch of insulation stripped off each end.
That will help you start the car at the gas station when it wont crank from a heat soaked starter just like I did at the AX for you. You were paying attention and remember what I did-right?

Oh Ya.
You probably have a bad fuel accumulator. You need to replace your 20cc unit wth a 40cc unit.
You need to put fuel gauges on to make sure.
(could be a fuel pump check valve or something else. But the 20cc unit is just to small).
So you know how to get around that from what I showed you at the AX.

When it wont crank- (This is because the starter is binding internally from heat and the ignition
can't provide enough energy to activate the solinoid).
Do this:
(E-brake on and in nuetral)
Turn key to run position. (dash lights on)
Remove 14-pin engine connector at the relay board that lives in the left rear corner of the engine compartment.
Use that piece of wire to bridge connector 2 to connector 13. (they are marked on the plug and at opposite diagonal corners from each other).
This will provide dirct battery power to the starter and the car will start and run.
Now plug the 14-pin connector back in and you are ready to go!
WARNING!!!!!!
There is lots of stuff spinning around now and you could loose your fingers if you dont use extreme caution!

The fan and holder and wrench should be in your tool kit (Ha, Ha, Ha)
This is the fan holder tool. Because you have a double air injection pulley you will just want to use a socket for the fan nut
