While replacing the oil pressure sender on my 911, I managed to cracked the thin oil line to the timing chain tensioner. Needless to say, I got a running stream of oil when I started the engine. I probably should've disconnected the cam oil line from the sender block first before loosening the oil pressure sender
But when I looked at the oil line and the banjo bolt to the tensioner, they look pretty fragile. I have a feeling they could break simply from engine vibration, or slight stretch of the line, or over torqueing the bolt. The result could be catastrophic at the track!
Has anyone tried replacing the factory lines with AN lines? It seems AN fittings and flexible high pressure lines would make a sturdy setup. I'm thinking of running -4 line for the cam oil line and -3 for the tensioner line to match the size of the factory lines. Is it a good idea? Any downside you can think of?
Thanks in advance.
