I thought I should be the first one to congratulate Dan "the man" Chambers.
After all the grief he took last week (mostly by me) he pulled out another first in IS. It seems I brought a knife to a gun fight. I could make excuses about his new tires and my old ones but I would have to add that I drove the wheels of my car and just couldn't pull a clean lap better than a second slower than he could. Really great drive Dan, and I spent the week making my cars as fast as possible w/o new tires. Great competition.

There were some other interesting stories out there today. A certain black 951 driver who seems to be adapting well to a new car... this cars ex-owner who seems to be getting a grip of this 911 drift thing... a V-8 guy that discovered that half the cylinders only gets you half the rotation and a couple of very fast ladies that were really turning some heads with their driving. The "chicked" list was huge today!

Great event, and another awesome track. I really enjoyed the layout, even though I never felt like I had mastered it. Great weather, though my lips and cheeks are telling me I got too much sun and wind.

I thought this was one of the best tracks we have had in a long time. It had everything from a slalom that was debated all day as to which side to take, painfully slow understeer corners, very fast how much speed do you dare carry corners, braking zones that were 50 feet later than most people thought they were and a lot of areas to pitch catch and throttle steer. That said, in the second run session, it and the new car kick my butt bad, but by timed runs I was at least doing mediocre despite a pretty good spin in the slalom

I thought this was one of the best tracks we have had in a long time.

That was a great track Jackie Lu!
I couldn't quite muster the skill or the guts for the long downhill speed the car was capable of. Guessing seat time at a DE or TT would help.

BTW, my smack-talk joke about beating my KI competition the other night was purely to make you laugh. I'm happy to come in near their times. I heard some guys really took me seriously...

Great track!!! I obviously have a lot to learn about the 944 (like get on the gas much earlier!), but it's a blast to drive. Thanks again to everyone who helped out. The wonderful weather was a nice change of pace from what we've had and reminded me that we really are in San Diego.

Thanks, Steve. Those are very kind words. That was a great day for an autocross, and the track was truly challenging. I hope you don't leave IS too soon, but I know your wheels are "thread-bare" by now. The competition really is fun in IS this year. Thanks for a great day of "toe-to-toe" racing.

And how about Paul Young!! Incredible times, and BRI Champ. MAN! That guy was smokin'. I think I'm glad he left the "Snickers" car home and brought the "oher" car. He really drove like he was on fire.

And a big congrats to my lovely wife Monica who, although finished 4th, shaved over 7 seconds off her times. "You Go, Girl."

Do I bring out the worst (or maybe best) in people? Everyone left me in the dust when they moved up to KI, and now there is a new group who took their place in KP. Five drivers separated by 1.8 seconds (1.5 because Tami swears she didn't hit that cone). First and second by .03 or 1.7 feet at an estimated 40 mph finish. Nice drive Pierre, I thought I had it with a 113.30. Thanks Carl and Pierre for showing me what new springs and shocks might do for my car . Tami keeps chipping away. This is the closest she has every been to the top of KP - great drive everyone!

Most of KP beat most of KI!

I loved this track in the morning: technical but fast, and I was sure there were a few more seconds to be easily found. By the end of the day, I was hating this track: I never improved on my times and even went backwards a little.

Congratulations to those that were able to master this challenging track!

Besides Jad's an others' comments about the great variety that Sunday's track offered, I really liked the way it connected and flowed. Great job Jackie!

Right after I ran, I had to leave for Paul Jr's concert. While I've had several BRIs in Snickers (IS), I never expected Butch (II) to be competitive.
It's a wickedly quick car already, and has even more potential...

It also gave me a LOT of respect to those who drive faster (or more modified) cars.

There were a number of incredible drives yesterday - it was really a fun event to watch, as well as participate in - lotsa drama and great class battles.

And I am REALLY glad I wasn't in IS!!!

I drove the wheels off my car and just couldn't pull a clean lap better than a second slower than he could.

The results say the gap between you two was only 2/10s (well, 21/100ths, to be exact), not a full second, but we do seem to have a trend starting in IS here, rather than an anomaly.

Boy, the gap in KP was razor-thin! Just .03 sec between Pierre and Bill, and in JS, there's only .09 between Martha and Damon! That's some close racing.

Three laps in a row within a half a second of each other in the 69 second range by Erik was insanely fast and consistent for that track. An outstanding TTOD performance, for sure!

Kudos to the AX team for pulling off another great event with soooo many cars. You finished on time. Great job!!!!

Congratulations to all of the winners and excuse makers. This looks like it will be a greatly competitive year in several classes.
