Borrego Boogie Tour February 15, 2009

Boys and Girls,
Fill up your tanks, check your tires and save the date: FEBRUARY 15 at Steele Canyon High School at Campo Road, Route 94 at 9 AM SHARP.
We will have brunch at the Pine Hills Lodge, the price is 20 dlls per person including tip.
The scenery will be breath taking and the roads awesome with lots of curves.
We will divide the group in two, for "spirited driving" and for "I want to enjoy the roads and scenery " driving.
Please let me know if you are coming, by e-mail if possible. I need to know by February 7 to make arrangements for the brunch.

There is nothing better for "Valentine's day after hangover" than to get some fresh air and drive some awsome roads like Lyons Valley Road, Engineer Road, Wynola Road, Banner grade and Montezuma Valley road and enjoy a delicious brunch at Pine Hills Lodge.
Let me know if you are coming. We will meet at Steel Canyon High School (Route 94 ,east) on February 15th at 8:30am.

If you got cabin fever this weekend with all this rain, the February 15th Tour to Julian and Borrego is the answer, provided that it does not rain or snow again.
Let me know if you are interested.
If the weather does not cooperate and we need to postpone it, I will announce it in the Forum.

DARN! One of my favorite tours and the SC is being fitted with new goodies (out of commission  ). Could someone please lend me a GT-3? No? Okay, I'd settle for a GT-2. No? Well, how 'bout one of those "antiquated" no-longer-in-production Carrera GT's? .... Still no? Sigh .... guess I'll go surfing. :burnout:

Have fun Y'all, and take lots of pictures.

Sorry guys,
The February 15th Borrego Boogie Tour has been postponed to March 1st. weather permitted and pending Board approval.
The reasons are the poor road conditions because of patches of moist and possible ice, and the fact that the forcast is predicting rain (snow) over the week end and particularly on Sunday. :( So I hope to see you on March 1st :D

Because of the weather and poor road conditions the Borrego Boogie Tour date has been officialy changed to March 1st (weather permitted).
Let me know if you want to join us before February 22nd.

Just a suggestion, but since the weather ended up being fine yesterday, perhaps the final decision about whether to go should be made either the night before or that morning?

Perhaps just putting a note on the invitation that the drive is subject to weather, but to check the forum posting the morning of the event.....this way the organizer can make a more accurate "game time decision".

Not trying to be the annoying new guy here, but you all missed some excellent drive time yesterday. Borrego was wide open and Montezuma Valley Road was perfect.....we only went up, but the road was so good that I contemplated going back down just to come up again.

Greg
I looked out at the weather Sunday morning and all I could think of was "Doh" Image. Unfortunately, the decision has to be made beforehand because an Insurance Certificate is issued and we need time to inform everyone. I, as well as Ignacio posted weather warnings and the postponement plans on Wed/Thurs. Sorry you missed the info. Unfortunately, possible rain and/or melting snow in Julian could cause dangerous conditions. There are a lot of blind turns that would be no fun when a wet spot suddenly appears. We are charged with erring on the side of safety and an incident would be bad for the Club. For every "damn the torpedos, full speed ahead" email we get, there is four that are worried about tree sap, spraying water and the slippery conditions.(It seems that more people are worried about getting the car dirty than actually crashing it). Please join us on the next one.
