A huge thanks to all who participated in the Fall 2010 PDS

Postby ZombiePorsche44 on Mon Oct 11, 2010 12:16 pm

From the CDI's,
We just wanted to take the time to thank all the Instructors, Volunteers, Students and everyone else who helped make the Fall PDS a success. As usual we encountered challenges but everyone stepped up to the plate and hit a grand slam home run. Our hats are off to you!

On a side note, I would like to personally thank Dan & Mark for helping me learn the CDI job and everything that goes with it and thank them for their multiple years as CDI's. I now have a new found respect with how much hard work they have put in on behalf of our club and our students over the last few years.

FYI: For those of you who didn't know, subject to incoming 2011 board approval, I will be back for 1 more year of CDI duty with my new Co-CDI's, Larry Bevins & Sean Molloy!

Thank you all again and if you are so inclined to step up to the plate again, PCASDR is looking forward to working with you at the Spring & Fall 2011 PDS's.

Cheers,
Joel Bowman

Another great PDS put on by everyone involved! It really is a great event to be a part of and is something we should all be proud of. I know everyone involved in the exercises I was part of really busted their butts!

I don’t think we can give the CDI’s enough credit and thanks for all the work they put in. I would like to personally say thank you to our outgoing CDI’s, Dan and Mark, for doing an outstanding job at not only working tirelessly and carrying out the CDI job with great grace and poise, but also for being excellent leaders and teachers for all the members to follow in. I know I have learned a great deal not only from their experienced suggestions but also in observing how they conduct themselves. Thanks guys!

And, based on this past weekend’s success and smooth running the new CDI’s have clearly picked up right where things left off. Nice work Joel, Larry and Sean!

Adam,

Thank you for your kind words. I've enjoyed being CDI for the last two years and hope that I haven't screwed up the school. Thanks to my fellow CDIs Dan, Chuck and Joel for your help and guidance. I look forward to instructing again and I'm very happy to leave the stress and insanity to Joel, Larry and Sean. :roflmao: It's been a great couple of years working with all of our instructors and students. :beerchug:

Once again a well run PDS, thanks to the CDI's and all the rest of the volunteers. Steve McKay worked like a an absolute slave herding all the inexperienced students around making corner working happen without a glitch. And he still had the energy to give me a Bronx cheer when he was waved around me in pre grid line at the end of the weekend! What amazing stamina, my hat's off to you!

My student this time was a little spooked by street crashes in his past, but when he had "that moment" when the light bulb over his head suddenly shone like the sun, BAM! he started putting in fast laps -each 3~5 seconds faster than the one before- and his perm-a-grin wouldn't quit. It's moments like that keep me coming back.

For me, taking the PDS with my son several years ago was what started me down the slippery slope. This is a wonderful tradition, with people coming in from out of town, even out of state, to participate because of the reputation our PDS has. It was great to get to volunteer with (as Dan would say) the Instructor Corp. Congratulations on a job well done, Gentlemen.

It took a tremendous amount of effort to pull it off so successfully. Your enthusiasm and leadership is awesome, as well as on the part of the Instructors! My student, Michael Ma, was a natural, and we had a blast!

That was a great school!

Sunday night I was filled with mixed emotions. It's been quite a ride these past 3 years (plus 2006). And, its all been great!

I can't list all the people I'd like to thank because it would involve half the PCA club roster. I can offer a special thanks to a few of truly outstanding individuals who were working at a level rarely seen in this world: Steve McKay, Sean Malloy, Joel Bowman, Mark ("Faster Pastor") and Kari Bray, Jim Hicks, Larry Bevins, Keith ("give me the microphone") Verlaque, Bob ("take the mic away from Keith") Schang, and...
All the Instructor in "The Corps!" All of you make the PDS the great school that it is. Without you all, it would not be the success that it is. 8) Thank you, all.

Finally, words can't express my thanks to and praise for Mark Rondeau. Great leader/Board member, highly oragnized manager, perpetually positive attitude, fierce competitor. If ever there was a candidate for Enthusiast of the Year, it would be Mark. Nice work, Amigo.

Now, Let's Drive!!!

Dan, Mark & Joel,

You boys really know how to put on a grand show.

Lot's of moving parts (no pun intended) but everything came together with extraordinary precision.

I stand in wonderment!!!

Larry & Shawn, you have some rather large shoes to fill.

Go get 'em!!!

ATB!
