For those of you who were unable to make the AX on Saturday, you missed a really unique and exciting experience. Imagine...a Paris to Dakar themed course with actual desert crossing...that actually was at its best for timed laps! But more on that in another thread/format.

Given that theme it was nice to have provisions to sustain us through the arid wilderness, in the form of a new lunch truck. Steve M. our "caravan master" found us a new one after our longstanding previous one seems to have disappeared completely. I know that the bean burrito I had was delicious. We hope you had similar yummy experiences. In case it didn't stand out to you, there was another major difference, in that this truck came about 11 and stayed for the rest of the day! Very nice! Though we hope it didn't happen, if you had a bad experience with them, please let Steve know.

At the end of the event Steve spoke with them again and the truck owners really appreciated our good attitudes and business. In fact they asked what time we START the event, then informed Steve that they will be at the next AX at 7AM and stay ALL DAY. Yep you heard that right, Coffee and eggs, fruit, ect for breakfast, maybe a burger for lunch, a bit of sugar, or fruit before your timed run....we may need the SCALES for driver weigh-ins! We hope you enjoy what we think is a real find and give them your patronage and maybe a "Thanks for coming, PCA Welcome."

I liked the new truck. I bought the same breakfast burrito I always do, and I would have to give the new truck higher points for their superior salsa fresca, putting them one class up on the old truck. The cost was the same and ingredients were equal or better. (Note that this is an apples-to-apples comparison, so my classification opinion has solid data to back it up, at least from this one event. Of course, a complete season of data from a wide array of drivers would be better. )

Well, I would also have to give them a higher BRI (belly-rubbing index) score. Their breakfast quesadilla (with ham, eggs, bacon, and sausage) was even better than the old breakfast burrito.

Yup, I thought the food was a better value and better overall...I had much more egg and better cooked bacon in my usual. The other truck was always good so I can't knock them but I'd give a vote for the other truck at future events.
