1997 Porsche 911 GT1 Evolution (fast carbon fiber bodied car)
1992 Porsche 968 Turbo RS (very rare car)

Originally the X class was (and still is) for Porsche racing cars, you would still be X but still the envy of all.

220 mph in a 962 a racing car from a different era when safety was secondary and a crash would end it all. But, racing wouldn't be fun if it wasn't dangerous in my opinion.

While a 962 not the safest car Porsche ever built it is like a Toyota Prius compared to a 917/30
Here is the frame. Notice where the brake mast cylinders are located in comparison to the front wheel centerline.

And yes, I would drive one at speed if ever offered with complete amiumity from damage...

Wow the spaceframe looks scary @200+MPH, the aluminum rivet monocoque is better as you said, but neither is really safe compare to modern carbon-fibre monocoques. The drivers from those days definitely had more hair on the chest .

I'd love to drive a 962 or 956 at speed, the 917 are nice but were unstable at speed. Was probably more like flying than driving.
