Be careful that the extra thickness of PC'ing the fan shroud/housing AND the fan doesn't create a clearance issue. At least on my car, it was very very tight with only a PC'ed housing and a brand new fan... Oh, and make sure to mask off where the alternator goes into the fan shroud....I screwed that up and had to scrape away the PC to get it to fit properly. AND let the PC dry for a while before putting in the alternator or you will fight like hell to ever get it back out...

Painting won't be as durable, but won't be as thick either.
