California Festival of speed was excellent!

Great weekend at Fontana with near perfect weather, good attendance, lots of tight competition in both the Club Racing and Time Trials, and a very "festive" atmosphere with all the vendors, food trucks, flags, concours, parade laps, swap meet, GT cars gallery, mini AX and more. It may have been the smoothest running CFOS to date so hats off to all the event organizers.

This was my very first event in the new (to me) ride and the car is a lot of fun. I managed a 2nd place in the hotly contested CC07 class but could never quite catch Ralph Linares who drove brilliantly all weekend and knocked a full second off the track record previously held by Paul Young. Bravo Ralph!

Now it's time for suspension work and a bit of weight loss to get this car in the game. See ya all at the next one!

Totally agree -- great event that was *really* well managed by all the amazing volunteers -- Kudos to all!

And, on a personal note, Dave Hockett*, thanks for the great coaching. The way this club brings noobs up to speed on track is just stellar. Also, big thanks to Steve Grosekemper* for helping diagnose a couple mechanical issues that give me assurance to keep pushing, as well as to Black Forest and Jon Rickard* for being such a great, long-term, always there sponsor for our activities.

That was a blast!
Charles

It was a great event. Dave really pushed me to step up my driving. I think it may be time for him to move up a class. :beerchug:
