Porsche Vehicle Defects?

While reluctant do to it justice by raising the question, I'm curious if others got the "Attorney Advertisement" from Capstone Law in LA, trolling for folks to join in on class action suits dealing with "Dashboard Glare or Water Temperature Gauge Problems in Porsche Vehicles." Letter dated April 7th states:

"Our investigation has revealed that a number of consumers who own or lease certain Porsche vehicles may be experiencing distracting and unsafe glares and/or reflections of the dashboard on the windshield. The glare and/or reflection in these vehicles may be more prominent in Porsche vehicles with Luxor Beige interiors. This problem may pose unsafe driving conditions. In addition, the water temperature gauges in the vehicles may be displaying inaccurate temperatures."

As I said above, just curious....

Did not get any correspondence, but I did recently buy (to my exact spec) a Cayman with Luxor Beige interior including the dash. The dashboard glare is a total non-issue. It has never distracted me under any lighting conditions, and in fact, almost disappears when I put on my prescription polarized sunglasses. At one point, I asked my wife about it, and she said she hadn't even noticed it until I pointed it out.

And yes, my water temperature displays 194 degrees F most of the time. Am I smart enough to "handle the truth" about my water temperature? Yes. Does it bug me? Not particularly. The oil temperature seems to be accurate, and that's more important than water temperature anyway.

Never got any correspondence, but would not have anything to do w/ a class action suit like that--it sounds frivolous to me, and will only make the lawyers rich and do very little for the effected class. The Sand Beige dash reflecting in the windshield when driving into the sun did actually bug me in the Cayman S, so I installed a cheap black dash pad to eliminate it. I never tried polarized sunglasses. The temp gauge does peg itself at 194F and won't reflect small changes, but it will rise if a certain threshold is reached, so don't see how that is a serious problem.

Most of my sunglasses are polarized. They really do cut glare compared to non-polarized. Work great for looking out to the road; not so well when trying to read the sat-nav unit or other screens inside the car. Life is about trade-offs. Our GTS' water temp gauge marks 150 and then 200. Hot day or running hard, goes higher than 200...and back in the garage, once we shut it down the electric fan comes on and will run for 10-15 minutes or more. Unless or until something "bad" happens, I'm trusting Porsche. As for the potential for lawsuits related to these two issues? Even with recent GT3 fires and certain engine bearing problems in mind, my reaction is: gimme a break. It does puzzle me that others haven't received the same lawsuit solicitation. Has me wondering: just what email or other source list(s) are we on that others aren't.

We did not receive any such correspondence. I have to wonder if this has anything at all to do with the Paul Walker Porsche accident. Doesn't sound like it, but perhaps they're fishing for reasons to blame the accident on the P-car.
