Great photos as always, Greg.

Awesome driving by Steve G to take TTOD and BRI.

I had a blast trying to keep up and really enjoyed the layout and flow of the track. I can't believe I actually stayed on the track. I don't think the car was straight and stable anywhere except the start.

Kudos to all the volunteers who helped put this event together and kept everything running smoothly. :beerchug:

+1 for a great event. I agree that it was a excellent course - great flow and outstanding use of the available surface. The course seemed to hold up pretty well throughout the event, which is quite a feat in itself.

Thanks to all who put so much time and effort into making SDR driving events the "Gold Standard".

Thank you Greg for the great pictures and fun article in the witness!

+1 it was a great event. The track was fun, the slippery surface made it interesting and even with the newer tires I was still sliding around a bit.

Congrats to Steve on the TTOD, it was a close and fun competition.

HUGE fun folks!

Thanks to Andrew and Marcus for designing a real gem of a course (and documenting it, with alternate lines, no less), and to all the volunteers who make this insanely good time happen every month.

Can't wait for the next one!

Great flowing track. Thanks to the AX team. It was great to see the return of a regular Slalom - IMHO the most critical element for AX driver development. So hard to get right so you need lots and lots of seat time practicing that element.

Was anyone else really slippery during timed runs?
This same thing happend to me at BMW last week.
I'm normally consistent within tenths by the middle of P2. I ran a 1:19.78 and 1:19.87 in P2 but only managed 1:21's in timed runs. I just could not put power down as early or hold my line as tight. tenths here and there just added up to 1.3 seconds :(

My car is setup optimally for El-Toro and that works at the Q when it is cooler then when it heats up the car gets really loose. I am going to stiffen up the front bar the next event. I am already running with the rear bar disconnected.

It's the surface.
Practice times are often faster than timed runs (except for the drivers that install the "good" tires after practice :surr: ) as the worn out asphalt offers significantly less grip when the surface temperature rises.

More kudos here to the track designers, another really good one.
I put in what I thought were a couple of near perfect timed laps, only to find I'd had my a$$ handed to me by Mr Osterberg

There are exceptions to everything it seems. There were some who had their fastest laps of the day during Timed Runs without changing tires.
Thank you to those of you who provided the positive feedback regarding yesterday's AX. Myself and my team will continue to strive to make this the best AX season ever.
Be patient with us regarding the September 12th AX as we won't have the luxury of setting the track the night before and we will be without Marcus who will be at Spring Mountain Raceway that weekend.
Looking forward to seeing many of you at the Instructor Day in a couple weeks.
Best regards,
Mark

Super track with pretty close times between classes. We had trouble with grip as well, and I am sorry to the Corner Workers who had to pick up lots of cones after my first 2 wild run sessions. No more coffee for me!

Thanks again for all the hard work!

Thanks for the pictures. I'm always amazed at how many people it takes to put this on and in the end how smooth it goes. I see many different people when setting up the track the day before, working tech the morning of, and throughout the day. And the people behind the scenes such as registration, timing, etc. It is great volunteering with everyone and I appreciate everyone's effort.
