To get it going, what days are best, what events are good (historics, pre historics, auctions, concours, other), where to observe, dining, accomodations, spouse activites, etc.
Feel free to brag and make us jealous
I have been going for about 10 years. I have been to Pebble Beach once and the Concorso Italiano about 3 times, but not since they moved from Quail. This past year it was at the airport in Marina and the reports were not favorable.
I have a lot of fun at the race track and usually spend most of my time and "film" there.
I usually stay in Seaside, but ended up all the way out in Santa Cruz when Ferrari was the featured marque and I was slow to get going with my reservations. With Porsche in '09 it will be as popular.
For things not related to cars, there is all of Monterey and the central coast with wineries and wine tasting, Monterey Aquarium and Cannery Row along with the Wharf. With the beaches nearby and Carmel and Big Sur to the south and Santa Cruz to the north, there is lots to do, at least I have heard that :^)
If you have not been to the Pebble Beach Concours, it is a great event, but is too crowded for good photography for my tastes.
Here area few of the run group photos from this year's event:
