HANS Device Group Buy - Any Interest?

Postby Pete Millikin on Mon Feb 12, 2007 6:59 pm

Anybody interested in a HANS device group buy? A vendor I contacted quoted a pretty solid discount for a minimum 10 unit order.

This would be a single combined order with a reputable and authorized retailer. No returns or exchanges would be permitted for simplicity sake other than for a product defect. Everyone would be on their own for installation. Anticipated delivery would be in time for the CA Festival of Speed at the end of March.

The vendor did not want their name or pricing published on the web. If seriously interested PM me with your email address and I'll provide details.

I make no claim regarding the safety of the product or expertise in motorsports safety. The proposed transaction is designed soley to provide a volume related discount to the participants.

Pete did you check out the R3?
I've had both and prefer the R3.
It just rx'd NASCAR approval if that matters.
It is not as seatbelt dependent as the HANs.
It should still work when you ride in a student's car.

Actually it looks like it is the Hutchens Hyrbid that is now NASCAR approved, as well as SFI 38.1 not the R3 and the hybrid uses the hsoulder belts although it may not rely on them for all conditions as much as the HANS.

I may be interested if the pricing is good enough. My father recently got in on a Hans group buy from OG racing and got a model 20 shipped for $723, unfortunately I didn't have the extra cash at the time so I missed the deadline.

Good point Rick, the R3 and Hutchens have a similar design and I confused them at a glance.
The R3 is SFI 38.1 approved.

Here is an update on the buy. We have 5 confirmed and are looking for five more. FYI the pricing is 15% off list. I'll update here and ask for a final commitment in early March to ensure delivery before the Festival of Speed.

Final call on the group buy. We have roughly 6-8 orders which is lower that the original minimum of 10, but I plan to submit the group order anyway to the supplier to see if they give us the pricing.

Please respond by Friday March 9th whether you are in or not and the details of the order including which model and size. I have forwarded pricing to all those interested thus far. Any questions call me on my cell (858)336-5985.

Be safe, remember the cost is less than a set of tires.
