Gary,
I don't think anyone was suggesting this. And please re-read the original first two posts in this thread to see the context for all the responses.

I'm sure everyone knows the POC guy who has more money than everyone who shows up to one of our TT's combined? That guy is driving around in a $200,000 Cup Car. I did the math and the amount that guy spent on his track car is equivalent to a millionaire spending literally $200 on a track car. Heck, lets say you're a millionaire 10x over. You would get to spend $2,000 on a track car.

Now THAT'S being able to afford to race and not worrying about balling up your race car. Does anyone know of any good track cars in the $200 to $2000 range?

I admire the guys who club race and thank them for giving me something fun to watch. I choose not to do it for my own perceived safety reasons. I don't want to afford it either. And most of all, I think that once I do that, how exciting could an AX or even a TT be?

OK, intermission is over. Back to slugging it out! And don't mind Dan. He's just grouchy from having to pay for his new transmission and repairing the severely stretched speedometer cable that he kept insisting his car didn't have when we pulled his motor and trans out. He somehow believed that his speedometer and odometer received their info through some sort of prototype wireless system Porsche was experimenting with in 1973. :D
