Show of hands that would like a DE at El Toro

How many would like to try a new DE venue? I don't know how the cost compares to the Q but the amount of real estate and the excellent surface would be worth it.

I'd be willing to try it out. Sounds like a fun track with a good surface to run on.

It could be like the old days when Dan Curt and Mick actually drove their cars.

Dan: Steve E. had the breakdown in another post. If I remember, it's $2500.00 for the venue (about $1K more), and the area is fairly large.

We'd need to get the equipment from one of the regions and have Steve E. help coordinate to get in communication with the people responsible for the venue.

There'd be a bit of work, but I personally think there'd be enough interest within the SoCal area (SDR, OCR, GPX, San Gabrial, SBR, etc) to get enough participation and enough help to make a DE happen.

I'd suggest the CDI's and the DE Chairs in SDR get together with the guys from OCR if there is truly enough interest. It would be a great venue!

Thanks Dan!

Who are the current DE chairs? Should I contact them?

Thanks,
Dan

After reading on this forum about the autox there last month, and hearing about it from others, I'm definitely up for it.

I'm in. If it's larger space for a longer track, I would even pay a little more....

Good idea! I'd pay a bit more than for a QDE.

Yes. Curt Yaws and Chuck Sharp (last year's AX Chairs) are this year's DE Chairs. Hopefully they're reading this thread........

From what I gather, Steve Equina in OCR has some good insight into the access issues. Looks like interest is growing. I think you got yerself a DE cookin', pardner!
