I'd be up for it, even if cost was higher.

Me too.

I'd also be up for it if the cost was the same and the club turned less of a profit.

Curt Yaws attended the last AX at El Toro as well so he knows the surface etc. Are you out there Mr. Yaws??

Also,
I would assume we can get the willow corner workers for this event as well? This would save them a couple hours travel?

Dan(s): Thanks for reminding me to read the Forum. This is a great idea, since the El Toro surface is so much better than the Q. I think we could have a great shared event with OCR. Quite a few SDR folks have driven at El Toro this year, and really enjoyed it. We could have a serious fast track. I'll talk to Steve Eguina and see if he wants to do a joint DE there.

OK. I'm getting some details. The track is $2,500 per day. There are two strips 1.1 miles long running east/west and two strips 1.7 miles long running north/south. Assorted connectors allow for some interesting layouts. Look at it on Google Earth, go to tools, and you can measure path distance and do your own track design. Several dates are open this fall. Dan Chambers and I are going to look at it on Sunday, which is an OCR AX day. We'll keep you posted.

Hi Gang! :D

Just wanted to let you know how excited the Orange Coast Region is to possibly have SDR's DE event at El Toro. It is a great venue.

I met with Curt Yaws on Sunday at our event. Dan Chambers, Bob Scheussler and I drove Curt around the El Toro Fields facilitiy that we rent from AMCI. It will allow for a course of over 2 miles. OCR only uses about 1/2 of what is available.

During the last 18 months OCR's Driving Events Management Team has been working hard to get our Auto-X program up to speed. However, we are still in the process of training AX instructors, and developng a larger core of workers. Our last event we had 112 drivers who took 11 runs + a parade lap. We would hope to maybe sponsor a DE event of our own next year. I'm sure we will learn a lot about what is required at your event.

I know we have several members, including myself, who attend both the PCA TT's you run so well and the POC STS and TT's. These drivers I'm sure will attend and help.

Let me know how we can help! Our equipment truck, cones, PA system etc is all available for your event. We hope to have a wireless timing system soon so you could even do segment timing if you used our software. In addition to our 350 cones I have acces to AMCI's 350+ cones. We also have a line chalker and access to free flower. If we don't have it we will help get it.

I'm sure we can get volunteers to help with setup, tech, registration or anything else you might need assistance with.

I hope to be at your event on Saturday. Please stop by and say hello. I have an 02 Red Chey Truck that tows the Silver GT2 with GMG on the windshield.

Have Fun! Steve Eguina - OCR AX Chairman
