Rain contingency plan?

Postby JamesWilson on Thu Oct 11, 2007 1:05 pm

I know we don't normally run when it's "wet", news last night said showers through lunchtime on Saturday...will this affect our event and the schedule?

Thanks!

Unofficially, when it is a little storm like this with 30% chance of rain for a couple of hours, everything will run as planned. With SD weather forecasts, this generally means 1 chance in a hundred or rain. If there is a huge storm with 100% chance or rain, it may be cancelled, but with this forecast it should be a go unless things change dramatically. We can run in light rain, just puddling and rivers end the event.

Officials may have a different view of things, but this is how it has been for the last 10 years or so.
