Competition Permit/License

Postby elcap00 on Tue Nov 06, 2007 2:10 pm

This may by a wacky question but, I am getting my logbook signed after each DE and the TT's I have completed.

How many sign-off's do I need for my comp. permit and once I get my permit/license what does that enable me to do other than being able to drive alone at DE's and TT's?

Is this also the hurdle for club racing?

thanks

Look under the CCRs for club racing. You must have 12 DE or TT days in 2 years. After that, fill out the club race application with National and get your interview, then they allow you into the race school, next one at the Zone 8 event in Fontana in April. Start early. They are very thorough and it's a big jump from TTing including rolling starts. If you are thinking about wheel to wheel I recommend Driving Concepts school out of Irvine/done at Willow. That will give you a good taste as to what to expect in club racing.

Not to mention the medical requirements and lots of additional car requirements. Check the club racing section for details.
