Dan,
I don't know about your results, but we DID have a terrible time Saturday reading a lot of car numbers. We often had to have all three of us in the trailer confirm the numbers and sometimes ask the starter to go up and read the numbers. And corner workers complained they couldn't read the numbers either.
With the sun behind the starting line, all the taped numbers that weren't large and contrasting were difficult to read. (You didn't have a black 911 with a dark red/purple taped number, did you?)
Seriously, any question on numbers had all three of us double-checking, and the computer lets us know if we try to score extra laps for anyone, so we *think* we got everything right.
I am going to propose to the AX chairs that for future events, anyone entering the hot pits with non-contrasting numbers will be asked to pull out of line and fix them before running.
