Great Dinner

Postby lrayner on Sun Jan 13, 2008 5:38 pm

Congratulations, and thank you, to all the volunteers who put together the 50th Anniversary Dinner at the Hotel Del. What a great night! My wife even won a new Boxster, which was a nice surprise at the end of the evening. I also liked the display of awards from years past. My favorite was the first Enthusiast of the Year Award, given to John Straub, which prominently featured a spark plug secured to the middle of the plaque.

Thanks, things like awards were pretty simple back in 1974.

And yes, a big "thank you" to all the effort put in by many people. :!:

It was a nice evening. Thanks to everyone who helped to make it happen. The food, auction, memorabilia and the celebration were great. We stayed until the band's last song. I got to dance a little too - bum foot and all.

It was indeed a wonderful evening. However, due to a communication snafu and the desire to get you all onto the dance floor, the traditional presentation of a gift to the outgoing President did not occur at the dinner. We look forward to celebrating the presentation of this gift at the next board meeting. :)
