2/9/08 Driver's Dinner

Postby Jackie C on Thu Jan 17, 2008 5:14 pm

Ok kids,
We've done it! The dinner is sold out with 150 attending. Sorry, no extra room unfortunately. Should be a blast! See you there.

Ah yes, it should be an interesting autocross the next day. What time do we need to be at the stadium?

I'm looking forward to both events!

Bill, AX Chairs should probably just go straight from the party to the Q in the morning

The party is over at 10 p.m. Most of us could be home and in our PJs by 10:45.
Did we mention the really cool door prizes...?

Jackie, Jennifer, Katina and Dave, Congratulations and thanks for all of your hard work to get the drivers dinner to this point. This proves that this is an event that needs to take place to recognize some of the most active members in our club. I know that I'm looking forward to the whole weekend. Is it true that tech will run until 9am??? :P So.... What are the really cool door prizes??

After watching the AutoX group at last Saturday's shindig I am concerned if the Chairs can find their way to the stadium on the 9th/10th! :surr:

YES! If it weren't for Gary and then of course Corwin, we may not have had the Dinner. Then, many of you chimed in about your desires and it worked!

Due to the location size and probable cold weather, the max capacity is about 150 people indoors. Our new Social Committee will be able to plan for a larger crowd next year. And, they know what we like because they are racers.

Mark, nice try to find out what the door prizes are.

You never know what you can do until you try, all you need is some one with nothing to lose.

I love the way everybody pitches in and pulls these things off, AMAZING.

It's almost time to dine! Just a reminder to bring warm jackets because some of the party may spill outside onto a covered patio. There will be heaters.

97 people attended the Dinner 3 years ago. It is great that so many more are coming this year. And from now on, it will be an annual event with a larger budget. :D

(Gary, your avatar is scary, are you trying intimidation tactics now?)

Jennifer, i saw many little pink bags being handed out at the Inaugural Banquet, and they didn't look big enough to hold PJs. =)
