CA Festival of Speed TT info

Postby avidtest on Wed Mar 05, 2008 6:01 pm

Does anyone happen to know the actual schedule for the TT at the CA Festival of Speed? It looks like it'll start on Friday the 4th, but at what time?

Just trying to figure out if I need to arrive Thursday night or Friday morning. Thanks in advance.

I have always driven there early on Fri AM. There is a driver meeting and depnding on which run group you are in, there is enough time to unload the trailer, get ready etc....

Here's last year's schedule. This year may well be different, but the Friday morning start time (meaning the Drivers Meeting) won't be more than 20 minutes off of last year's.

Somewhere in this year's docs I read that it is preferable to register before 6pm Thursday. There will also be Friday morning registration, but you may miss track time.

Last night Vince told me there would be an approved schedule for this years CFOS early next week. He's waiting for final approval before posting it.

Shannon,

Big groups (6 or more) big rigs and motorhomes get appointed spots this year and the rest is first come first served. Last year I was there by 6:30 am on Friday with plenty of spots after registering and did't miss any track time. YMMV

I thought there was supposed to be a run group just for the historic Porsches - anyone know what happened to that?

I don't believe the historic guys are coming to Fontana this year.

FWIW.... This past weekend VARA ran at Cal Speedway, and HSR West(Historic Sportscar Racing west) ran at Willow Springs....

RV spots

Hey Robert,

Saw that you had a space # for CFoS. Have those been assigned yet, or do we find out when we get there?

I believe spaces are assigned for big rigs and groups ahead of time, but made known only at the Festival as they are done at the last minute (because the driver list changes a bit between now and then). Since I had to start publishing notices with a space on them now, I was pre-assigned.
