John,

We can send your email to a few sites that I'm sure will sell it to a gazillion other spammers. Just give me the OK and I'll get you started.

Well, I have just received several emails, including a copy of the spam message forwarded from MaryJo, and it is obvious that Paul did indeed send it out. I also received a message from Paul himself, saying that he did send them, and that "No, your email was not compromised, I am the only one with the email addresses, I loaded it up through my computer at work which is not available to anyone else....Feel free to make a comment on the Forum that the address have not been compromised and the emails were sent to assist members who may need a hand."

While he may have been motivated by a desire to help out PCA members who may be effected by the sub-prime mortgage market, I think this is a lapse in good judgement on his part, considering how it was received by the membership. Buy an ad in the Windblown Witness next time instead, Paul!

TT

The Board is aware of the problem and has asked that it not happen again.

Whew, we can get back to the fun now! And John, since you were feeling left out, I signed you up to receive emails from Dr. Phil.

The address list used for these “spam” e-mails was not taken from the pcasdr.org website.

The website has not been compromised in any way regarding disclosure of SDR members' personal data including (but not limited to) e-mail addresses.

The individual concerned has been contacted directly and requested to immediately stop sending such soliciting e-mails to SDR members and has agreed to do so.

I sincerely hope that this issue is now closed but, if further soliciting e-mails are received, please contact me at president@pcasdr.org.

Thank you,
Martha McGowan

I got it also. I think it may have come to me by way of the pcasdr e-mail account assigned to me from the parade for chairs. Did everyone who got it have a parade e-mail account?

I know we're over it - but I also received the spam and the one from Parade. I know this isn’t identity theft, but it’s a very close second in the greater scheme of things. Everyone accessing this forum has access to the membership list so be careful what you post.

I didn't receive the junk mail, but I am more concerned about making my phone number and address public/wrong hands rather than my email address. I can filter emails easier than unwanted phone calls or paper in my mail box which is not even good enough quality paper to start a fire or anything else with.
