Here are a few pics from California Speedway. I'll post more when I get a chance to go through them.

Unfortunately yes and most importantly Jack is OK. There was an oil issue on the racing line early in the second run session of Friday.

There were quite a few cars with damage, some totalled, as well as mechanical failures/issues all weekend. Our transmission went out on Friday. :(
I only got two run sessions in and I never got more that 4 laps in either one.

By the end of the events there were 7 total cars that have had some impact.
Some with extremely bad damage (totalled) and a couple with less damage.
Worst wreck is the Red 993 from AZ region which was running in the Purple group and went into the wall almost head on turn 2 then rolled down the banking and hit the inside wall with the back of the car.
Driver had to be cut extracted from the car after cutting the roof and she suffered injury to her ribs. She had a roll bar, bucket seats and 5 or 6 points.
Safet equipment is not where to save a buck!

Outside the wrecks and the many mevhanical failures, it was a great great WE. The weather was cool enough on Sat and Sun to help out.

Other than oil on track which is what I heard was the cause of Jack's crash, what where the other reasons? for exmaple the red 993 hitting the wall head on in turn 2 was that a right front tire puncture?

Kary don t want to speculate but I would think that rear came loose and driver probably over corrected by steering in the direction of the wall.

Jackie,

Why does it look like you decided to go back to start-finish in this picture? Anyway, it seemed everyone was having a good time and I'm really just jealous that I wasn't in one of the cars cars going in the CORRECT direction :)

I just wish I was going in EITHER direction by the end of the weekend and there are others that would probably agree

Pretty hard to lose the back in in turn 1 and 2 unless you hit oil or just lift too fast....perhaps the latter in the case of the red 993.

I almost forgot to take the picture. I was worried that those cars would take Jackie out. They were very nice about going around her and she got turned around quickly.

Definately a close call on T9, unlike AX, there are cars inches away and coming at you hard! I feel for the ones that crumpled their cars, been there-done that-NO FUN. Glad everyone walked away and yes, safety is job#1. As for the crash in T2, maybe going in too hot and lifting, over correcting and theres the wall (just speculating becuse I did not see it.)
