Anyone else pumped about school?

Postby David J Marguglio on Thu Oct 21, 2004 12:05 pm

Is it just me? I am very excited about this weekend. Looks like the rain will have blown through by then; should be a blast!

Smokin' ain't allowed in school.....

Postby Dan Chambers on Fri Oct 22, 2004 5:51 am

David:

I'm always pumped about the school. It is one of the highlights of the year for me. 8) Every time I see new "Performance Drivers" chatting excitedly in the pits about what they're learning, it reminds me of the time(s) Monica and I took the school back in 2001. For me, the Tours were the "hook" for PCA-SDR, and the PDS was the event that "put me in to boat."

Keith, Denise, the Safety Team , the Logistics Team (and Monica Bockman, who coordinates the meals - "YOU GO GIRL"), the Equipment Team, the crew of Instructors, and the many volunteer who all help make it happen really deserve a big slap on the back and HUGE "thank you." They all do an incredible job!

And remember, keep those tires and brakes in control, because "Smokin' ain't allowed in school." (Yea, I know. 70's song. I'm showing my age. )

Okay, please do not confuse my level of excitement as that of Dan's. Lets just say that I'm mildly enthused...

You're the one that posted the message Dave. Dan was just trying to keep you from feeling lonely by posting a reply.

I know and appreciate Dan and his level of excitement; it is people like Dan that make it possible for there to be people like Dan.

As for the rest of you, isnt anyone else jazzed?

I am looking forward too it, not too much as to be weird, but plenty as to support the club and the new members

- Politically Correct as always,
 Jad

PS. My dad is taking the class, so actually I am pretty excited. It is fun being able to 'loan' your car to your dad, especially while he is living under my roof!

Hey Jad, speaking of your dad, I forgot to tell you what happened when you came over after timed runs in Pahrump ... After you informed me of your .5 second victory I blerted out... you freakin SOB!, and I don't beleive I used Freakin... After congratulating you, you and your dad walked away and Curt turns to me with a dead pan look and says "you know Jad's Dad is a minister" Curt says didn't you hear what you said? and I am feeling really bad, then he starts to laugh and tells me he doesn't know if he's a minister...but he could be!....Note to self, watch language until you know for sure..

I love these schools :D .

The best times are when a student first nails a pitch-and-catch, or nails a corner and almost blows through the next one because they are suddenly going so much faster than any previous run - the excitement and enjoyment is contagious when things like these happen.

Plus, it is fun for me to feel the difference between my Boxster, a 928 (with a ton of torque! ), a 930 (love that sudden turbo boost just as we are about to switch to brakes for a turn! ), a twin-turbo, or really almost anything Porsche ever made (well, there was that one underpowered automatic last year... :( ).

Where else can you get a chance to drive and ride in so many different, excellent sports cars (and on OPT  ) and work with so many enthusiastic students?

I would be jazzed about it if I was going to be there, but I'm 600 miles north of SD in the Sierra foothills and can't make this one. You all have fun and be safe out there this weekend. I'll be sitting here on this 32k dialup connection out in the woods waiting for the next page to come up on the internet, still.

Uhm, no thanks. That story was funny. So funny in fact that I think I deserve a larger award than the one being offered in the previous post. :D
