June 1 OCR AX

Postby Irksome on Mon May 12, 2008 3:08 pm

SDR lost the first David vs. Goliath challenge, and now Steve is REALLY talking smack!

Come up and play on June 1! Who's in? Jess? Kim? Paul? Gary? Kinningers? Hmm???

Keep in mind, there is a Zone 8 party that weekend, so we may be able to catch these guys recovering from their hangovers. This may be our best chance!! ;)

I'd go if I could register for the event, but it seems to have reached capacity :(

Send them an email, they committed to fitting in any and all SDR folks that want to go.

Just beware that there might be a fine if you register and then back out or "no-show" for the event.

It should say on the OCR registration window what the rules are for payment. It's something along the lines of...if you drop-out after the Tuesday before the event, you're given a $15 dollar fine.

But don't quote me on it because i'm not 100% sure.

I think that's exactly right, Lorri. I contacted Lisa Goetsch, the OCR Autox Registrar about the payment/refund policy, and this is what she said:

"You need to prepay on-line to confirm your registration (and hold your spot). Your card will be charged $60. If you cancel no later than Tuesday prior to the event, you get a full refund. The system will show you a reference number for the credit so you can track it if you want. Cancellations later than Tuesday before the event are subject to a $15 hassle fee. Registering & paying later than Tuesday before the event costs
$75. This doesn't happen much, as we are usually sold out two weeks in advance."

I received an email from Lisa Goetsch that the June 1 OCR event is in fact full and cannot accept anymore entrants unless other people cancel.

At Saturday's AX, Lisa said if the OCR-AX is sold out to give her a call if you are from the San Diego Region and want to drive in the June 1 AX.

She said they want to promote the David Goliath match and will try to accommodate those of us from San Diego even if they are already sold out.

I heard back from Lisa.

The David & Goliath event for June 1 is cancelled as it was also a Zone 8 event and drew too many drivers for the 100 driver limit. She also said they have an understanding that they would make room for SDR instructors, but that was about it.

I guess i'll have to keep checking back for cancellations.

I have no more excuses and was checking around for a trailer.
At least my homework will be done when they reschedule.
