That is a very compelling point. If this is a "points" event, could there be a perceived, if not real advantage for those who drove it the first time over those who did not?

Excellent point, Jennifer.

Now, repeating a track every 6 months, the next year, or at the other car AX, would be better because the track won't still be freshly imprinted in one's mind.

Excellent point Jennifer. :)

Good point Jennifer regarding unfair advantage if you missed driving the track the first time and class points are important.

Perhaps we will run the track "backwards" like Tawfik suggested. People won't need to swap tire sides and it will still be a long fun layout that misses potholes. Also, Jackie and I will be gone at various times over the next two weeks and won't have time to lay out a new course to miss potholes. Ron Trotter probably won't be at the AX so reusing the layout will help save time and get us started at 9.

Sound OK?

I think ruinning it backwards is a great idea. We can have everything we all liked about the layout, the direction doesn't matter. I can see Jennifer's point about the points and unfair practice, I hadn't thought about that when I lobbied for a repeat.
Plus, who wants to change tires when they don't absolutely have to? :)

I like the idea of running it again as I missed running it the first time and then had to hear how great it was from everybody.
I guess that backwards is OK, but let's repeat it as soon as is practical.

OK, let's plan on running it backwards. We'll adjust the start and finish locations for this direction. Jackie Lu and Ron Trotter concur.

Question: Is there anything in the rules that says you can't run your car backwards? That way, those who missed it the first time can see it the way it was driven the first time (but in reverse order of course).

Chuck, I only want it backwards because it will suit my car so much more than yours..... :D

to make things fair for those that are collecting point for a year end trophy, why dont you use that course as the no points "other car" event in december.
Autox is supposed to be different every time.

My $0.02 - I don't think that track will work nearly as well counter-clockwise. In particular, I think the swale crossing will be painful (as in "crunch").
I like the idea of repeating it at the "other car" AX, or even just repeating it after 1-2 other tracks, if people are worried about unfair experience.
Of course, all this assumes we can throw the track exactly as it was before (you did get the GPS coordinates for all the cones, right?).
