Oct. 26 AX Canceled

Postby ronaldtrotter on Tue Oct 21, 2008 7:32 am
The AX scheduled for this Sunday, October 26 has been canceled. This is due to a scheduling conflict with the Stadium.

If you registered through the new system, how do you get a refund?

Thanks,

I also see that November's AX date has been changed on the website calendar. Is that official as well? I had it on my calendar as November 16, now it shows November 8. It's possible I just missed an announcement on that.

Very frustrating and disappointing to lose the October event. :banghead:

Does this mean that the December AX will be for points? We should also let OCR know about the cancellation since many of them were planning on coming down for the D&G challenge.

Thanks for canceling just because I was going to be out of town. That was very nice of you as I would hate to miss an AX! Plus it guarantees me the season championship for MI(sorry Dave). This is really nice of the AX team :D

Jad,

You had the championship wrapped up with or without this event. i wasn't going to be there this Sunday either. I might place 3rd if I'm lucky.

I posted on the OCR Forum that our event this weekend was cancelled. I also emailed the OCR AX-chair about it so that he can coordinate when the next SDR-hosted D&G might be.

The December AX is the "other car" event, in which members are allowed to bring out their non-P-car rides. In the past it has been a very popular and fun event and I'd hate to lose it by making the December AX a points event. My $0.02

The pre-reg team will process the refund Dan.
They can also just transfer it to the next event. They will advise everyone.

This late notice was caused by Qualcomm personnel.

I guess we won't have to go get snacks and 'humble pies' as planned for 'David' to chew on.

Thanks Jennifer!

Is there any truth to the rumor somebody paid more for that day and we were cancelled?

I must have missed that as well. My personal calander has PCA AX on Sunday, Nov. 16 on the SE lot, now the website has Sat. Nov. 8th. :surr:

If you look at the stadium event calendar, none of our events are listed. Yet things like the perpetual used car tent sale and race legal is listed. Odd...

It's a good thing I only got both cars ready. :banghead:
Is there any interest in having some AX's during the week (Friday?) when getting the lot would be easier (and maybe cheaper)? The points could be adjusted somehow, heck we managed to write software for the BRI.

An AX Chair can answer better than I because they meet with Qualcomm people. I was told that we can get bumped because we have an agreement and are a not for profit group and pay less. We will find out why this was such late notice.

Car clubs take second place to any group that is for profit and makes the Q money. That's all that needs to be said. We were canceled because the Car Connection group is having a car sale. They get first and last choice over everyone but the Chargers and the way the Chargers are playing they need to get last choice over everyone else.
