Installation Dinner

Thanks to all who helped out to make a really nice evening socializing with our outgoing and incoming board members, chairs, and special guests. Katina, Martha, Tammy and many others, did an amazing job of putting this beautiful dinner together for our club. Vic Elford was a special treat. He was nice enough to autograph my program, but the next autograph I want is Gary Burch's on that awesome year book.

We had a great time too. Lots of good stuff at the Charity auction, the food was good and the whole night flowed nicely.
Thank you Tami, Martha, Katina, Ralph, Annette and everyone else who helped at the event.

Martin won a big gift card and we get to plan what concerts we want to see at Humphry's By the Bay this summer!

Vic had a great sense of humor and was very approachable. After the dinner, we had a good time talking with him.

Thanks to all of the tireless volunteers who made our Installation dinner a success. Vic Elford was great (I now have an autographed 917 long tail model). Mark Shevitz was a wonderful MC. The food was delicious and everyone seemed to have a great time. I was especially impressed by the numbers of volunteers who went up to the stage. It seemed like about 3/4 of the room was up there. It takes a small army to run this clubs events.

Great event.

My only question is how, with 192 door prizes and 200 guests, did our table of 8 manage to not even get a coffee mug as a door prize???? We even had Tami at our table :D

Congratulation to the Kinnenger Family and Mr Grosekemper for family and enthusiast of the year awards!

Terrific event. It really went smoothly and efficiently. Mr. Elford was captivating in his stories. The welcoming of a new President (Go Dave!!) and a new Board is very exciting.

Big thanks to the Ibbitsons for a ton of hard work, with stellar results, as well as all the other volunteers that made that evening so memorable.

Special thanks to the 2008 Board and Madame President, Martha. 2008 will be remembered in our household as one of the best PCA years ever!

Looking forward to 2009. 8)

Hello all,
I've finally had some time to decompress and now I have some spare time on my hands (don't tell Dave). I think Dave has found some of my hours of work :)

Thanks for all the kudos I saw on this post. I had a wonderful time at the Installation Banquet. Tami and Katina did a great job and put in numerous hours to make this the fantastic event that it was. Many thanks ladies - it was a pleasure to work with you. Also helping out (through default) were their significant others: Bill and Mark. These guys worked hard to support their ladies and the event. Thanks guys! Ralph and Annette spent many many hours organizing the silent auction and they did a super job. Thanks to both of you and to Lauren (who I'm sure helped out in some way :D ). Thanks also to Steve and Sharon for helping with the silent auction (this was even before he knew he was EoY :) ). There were lots of great items to bid on. Thank you to all who donated. I appreciate your generosity, especially in some extra difficult times. Greg Phillips stepped in at the last moment (we called him at 3pm) to help out with a couple of small items that had been overlooked. Thanks Greg! The venue was beautiful, the weather was why we all live here, and the sunset was gorgeous. I hope everyone had time to enjoy these facets of the evening.

I again want to thank my dedicated Board, who supported me at every turn. And, the backbone of this Region - all of you who volunteer at the various events. I know I keep saying it, and it needs to be said. YOU are the folks who make this the great Club that it is. Thank you to all of you for the countless hours you gave in 2008 to make it the great year that it was. I honor and respect you all

Congratulations also to Steve Grosekemper our Enthusiast of the Year, to the Kinningers our Family of the Year, and to Susan, Margi and Roberto for the extra special efforts they put forth in 2008. You are all very deserving.

Vic Elford was a treat. This is the 3rd time I've heard him speak and I never tire of his stories. The story he tells where he passed the 911with two tires on the grass  on the Mulsanne straight at Le Mans in the 917 longtail doing 200 mph is my favorite.

Mark Shevitz was the consummate professional. I don't know what I would have done without him. He kept us on schedule (after a late start) and, in fact, he ran the program so well, we were able to let Vic speak for an additional 20 minutes. . .wow!

San Diego Region - you are the best! Thank you for giving me the honor to lead you through 2008.
You guys rock
