Great journalism... check it out!

I stumbled across an excellent automotive journalist while researching an assignment on the LA Times website, and if you enjoy reading about cars, then you must read his articles. His name is Dan Neil and here is an article to wet your feet.

He has many more and they are all worth reading. I'll just say that he reminds me of a certain British automotive journalist (pat on the back for whoever posts his name first). Tell me what you all think.

I have been enjoying Dan Neil's writing for some years now. He is hilarious and very knowledgeable. Are you comparing him to Nigel (I forget his last name) who writes the Formula 1 coverage for Autoweek? Another of my favorites!

Nope, keep guessing. Starts with a J. He is funny and controversial.

I don't read newspapers too often, which is why I was surprised when I stumbled across his work. I have always assumed the best car features are found in magazines, but I guess that isn't always the case.

I LOVE his description of driving the 997 GT2 as "like cutting a line out of a kilo of cocaine ....... and then snorting the kilo"

The whole article is refreshingly written and makes other motor journalists reports seem overly technical and mundane. His description of how to experience accelleration like that of the GT2's for yourself is creative and funny ........very funny!

When it comes to captivating writing, the man has talent.

As they say at all the best book stores ... this is a MUST READ!!
