If they did, I may be forced to ask when was the last time they beat me in a race or time trial? Was it in the 90's?

The wider-track rule should then be changed to say "1.75 inches or larger" as a way to somewhat penalize the RS vs the regular GT-3.

I am still with Victor on the GT-2 class change. It should move to another class.

I agree, but then we have the problem that I will be by myself in QP, and that's no fun. :surr:

You are always allowed to run in a higher class, you just can't run in a lower class. Enjoy RP? with the GT2's! Oh, and good luck on the BRI :roflmao:

Nobody in RP either, unfortunately. Whatever about the BRI, I don't do Ax/TT for the competition, I do it for the people :beerchug: and to sort out the car.

I race w2w for the competition. Surprisingly, there's less bickering since the pace is so close, and nobody is looking under other people's cars in the paddock. Unless, someone magically becomes .5sec faster, THEN they must have "found something" and there's a formal process.

I was just wondering (whining) :bigcry: (and I probably speak for any other person running a early 996) as to why I (we) have to run in a class that I (we) are totally outclassed. :grr: I am running in NS/S against Boxter and Cayman S's with a 1999 996. I know that it has the same or close to the same horsepower but that is as far as it goes. :banghead: From my point of view the midengine cars should be in there own class. This is not to say I don't have fun, the camaraderie, helping set up the track, doing my corner work, helping take the track down, thrashing around out there in my old water buffalo, learning to drive my car, having a beer and telling stories at the end of a long hard day of Autocross is what I joined the club and AX for.

But, with the current class setup in NS/S there is no way I or any 996 driver will ever get a 3rd place sticker on the side of my (their) helmet or top five finish for that matter (unless there is only four Boxster or Cayman S's running that day) and it would be fun to be able to do that once and awhile too. :D The N class needs to be reviewed and broken down to sub classes or a new class established so that the early 996 guys have the same chance for that feeling of placing as well as anyone else out there has.

There I am done whining. :bigcry: Let's have a beer and tell lies :beerchug:

waaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh

what about us, (all three of us, Keith, Adam, me), that have stock 993 C4Ss that automatically get bumped to a PREPARED class.
yeah, that's equitable, a stock car, (as in "as factory delivered"), running against Dave Gardner and Shannon Johnston.

Craig,

You only have to worry about Shannon, I've been in MI for the last 2 years.

There was a time when a 993 was classed with the Boxster S cars. This was very similar to the comments made earlier about older 996 cars in the class with Boxters and caymans. I understand the frustration, back then the 993 guys were competing for 4th place, the top 3 always went to the Boxster S cars. :banghead: The rules are the rules. Over time if there appears to be a dominant car and you complain enough to the people in charge of car classification you can get things changed. It takes time. So bear with it or buy a full fledged race car that is built to be competitive in its class. Sorry I can't offer a better answer. :(

...so what did "they" do? They separated the Boxster S from the 993 and put the Boxster S in a lower class. :banghead: That's how we got the new 987s!

Lucky us.

..another frustrated C4S owner. It's a good thing I love the car!
