April 11 AX - will set up to run no matter what.

Postby Bill Behun on Fri Apr 10, 2009 9:17 am

Some folks have inquired about what will happen if it rains on Saturday. Will the event be cancelled?
If it is raining hard on Friday, will the event be cancelled?

We will be setting up to run the AX Saturday!

Fortunately, according to the weather underground website, the chance of SLIGHT rain drops off to 20% by about 7AM and goes partly cloudy by about 11. So, bring a hat and a parka and let's drive!

(By the way, once in the past, it was raining very hard the day before the event with rain predicted the next day and so it was cancelled. The next day there was no rain and no one drove. :( This was before the good radar wand web weather sites we have today)

So "the policy" is to plan on setting up to run and the morning of the event and make a determination at that time unless somehow we really know it's going to be horrible weather. See you tomorrow! :D

Thanks Bill for the great track design and to all the autocross team members for a great smooth running event. It's so nice to get all our runs in and start packing up by 4:30 ish!
