Martin:

I don't find the Zone 8, POC or PCA CR rules unclear at all, just different from the FIA rules - A belt over 5 years old needs replacing.

The belts in the picture indicate that they are "valid" for the remainder of this year, but that validity only seems to apply to the FIA rules.

Since there is a date of manufacture on the belts, they are clearly more than five years old, which means they should be replaced to
comply with the (oddly stricter) Zone 8, POC or PCA CR rules.

Perhaps our rules should be changed to 6 years, or say something like;
"5 years from date of manufacture, or expiration date on label, whichever is later". That would need to be addressed by POC and
PCA CR also for consistency within these three sactioning bodies. But again, I think the rules are quite clear, just maybe not
right, and certainly not what you want in this particular case!

Thanks Martin,
While the others are shaving lightbulbs!!! I'm mourning a fantastic drive by John Kinkaid among others who didn't overdrive this track. Thanks for getting the results up.

Yes, my main focus is now on Formula racing and I am considering selling the 964 with spare parts as it will only collect dust. If the 911 sells, then at the Q I will drive the Boxster which I may modify a little closer to a street drivable Boxster Spec car. :D

A very good event with a well designed track. Too bad I couldn't quite get the hang of it. :(

Hi Everyone,

I lent my data logger and camera to Dan for the last autox. He in turn had Erik Kinninger drive his car for one run. I uploaded a video of Erik driving Dan's car. The video is a comparison video with both Dan and Erik's data overlayed on top of the video. The orange dot represents Dan's 12th run, and the blue dot is Erik's run in Dan's car. The data logger did not start until both cars hit about 40, so there is a few seconds where the dots are stationary before they start moving.

The end times for these run's are nearly identical, but it is interesting to see where each driver made/lost time. The speeds and G forces displayed are relative to position not time.

Check it out at:

Don't forget to click the high quality button.

I used a G2x data logger, a ChaseCam PDR100, and ChaseCam DashWare to overlay the data on the video.

Martin if you are getting new belts consider the schroth "enduro" belt, it's the easiest to adjust and i can get in aqnd out in half the time it usually takes my fat ***.
