Thanks to everyone for last weekend TT. It was great fun and after the morning sprinkle on Saturday was great weather from then on.
Also thanks to all to people who came up to me and supported the issue on reducing the price of the TT events it was greatly appreciated.

Fun track, good configuration. I think I'm finally getting a handle on some of these more technical tracks. Although, now I remember why I went with a 235/275 combo. Anybody want a set of 225/245 Dunlops?!?!

I also would like to express my thanks to Jack and the TT team who helped make it such an enjoyable weekend.
After a 10 month absence it was fun to get back out on the track especially gratifying to bond with old friends and meet new ones.

I saw a couple of you on the way home from Buttonwillow last night. That traffic sucked bad, but wasn't as bad as the 8 long hours it took to get up to Buttonwillow. Ugh!

Really? I took 14 -> 210 -> 57 -> 5 and was home in 3.5 hours. I'd be interested to know how long it took others and the route.

I tried to do 5 -> 57 -> 210 -> 14 on the way up but got 55 and 57 confused (+~45 minutes) and missed a turn while on the 210 and ended up getting on the 5 in Glendale (+~45 minutes) for a 5+ hour trip up. I'm still not sure how I messed up on the 210 though...

While headed through Pasadena, you stayed on the 210 as it merged into the 134 which led you through Glendale and thus to the 5.

When going through Pasadena, you actually have to CHANGE freeways to stay on the 210.

It's my neighborhood and over the years, plenty of visitors to my place in Altadena have gotten twisted the very same way. So, now's you know.

I visited the TT on Saturday and talked with a few of you. Missed visiting Van Zandt and Sharon but did not realize that they were parked in the St. Regis Hotel section of the track. Did grill steaks at sunset at the Fullmer compound though.

You're right about how well things were running and the work of Jack, Mary Jo and Martha (and the others). Was very disappointed that I was not able to bring my 911 and compete. The tennis tournament event took me away from preparing Red for the weekend. NO paint chips on the other car so I did not put her on the track.

BTW, GPX will do a one-day time trial at Streets in mid-May 2005. Hope you'll make that one.

Willow Springs Big Track - July 30-31
Fall Festival at Spring Mountain - Oct. 1-2
Buttonwillow - Christmas Day (just kidding. I'll have to get back to you all on that.)

Are you anticipating a change in the cost of the events next year?

Honestly, if the cost is around $175.00 I'd be up for more than 5, if it remains staus quo I'll do less. But thats just me. I don't know if we have enough members watching the board, but maybe Kary could try another Poll? How many people would be interested in the TT's at $175.00 ?

Anyway just an idea.

What do you mean the St. Regis? We were not trying to be un-sociable. The only reason we parked down there was the house batteries on the motorhome were going south and I did not want to burn up something with the generator trying to charge them continually. Having said that, we had a great view of the big track and some pretty neat hardware going around. Our neighbor for the weekend had Cobra #25, last of the hand built early ones. Affectionately named the "junkyard dog". No doubt would fetch big$$$$$ if he were to sell it. Why didn't you stop and visit? By the way, make any dates with the tennis stars? Ha ha!!

Ahhh, that explains it. I tried to figure it our while on my way home yesterday evening. But no luck. Couldn't spend that much time looking in my mirrors (which you'd think I would be really good at by now ). I'll be sure to keep that in mind on my way to Buttonwillow in a few weeks. Yeah, 65 is about right. 70 if I'm feeling lucky and get a tail wind. Of course on a couple of those hills I'm happy to keep it in the 50-55 range .

Not Willow Springs.........Buttonwillow. Normally a 4 hour trip taken all the way on I-5.
