This Sunday's AX is a DAVID & GOLIATH

Postby Bill Behun on Tue Sep 29, 2009 10:16 am

Yes, this coming Sunday's AX is a DAVID & GOLIATH event.
I've confirmed Steve Equina, the Scheusslers, and a few other Orange County PCA'ers will be attending (Team David)

For new AXer's, the Orange County Region came up with the idea of them (DAVID) challenging us (GOLIATH) in 2 AX's at Orange County and 2 in San Diego.

DAVID barely beat GOLIATH (US!!!) last year. :bigcry: :grr: :nono:
This first event is this Sunday in the Southeast lot so maybe Steve Equina will be at a disadvantage??
The course has a couple of more turns in it this time to slow him down . ... (and in reality, to slow us all for the swale crossing and finish line).

Erik Kinninger - as the unofficial "face" of GOLIATH - you gotta be there! .....
(also to try and get your yellow jersey back from Peter? ....but Dan Andrew's car will probably do real good on this course)

See you all Sunday :D

I'll only be there for a little while in the AM. The car has straight exhaust again. Sarah and Susie will stop in with me to watch the pros.

I believe Tom Brown was going to fix that and set the BRI factor up from 1.00 to 9.99, which might not get Phil quite as good a BRI rating... :D

Bill, I am unable to make this AX because of a church function I have to attend, so there will be no "try", I will not be able to defend the honor of the yellow jersey :? . I'll try to make it to the Q in the late afternoon to present the jersey to the new TTOD driver, naturally we feel that it will stay in San Diego and not be subject to humiliation by going across the border to Orange County :beerchug:

Bill, I'm right there with Peter. Won't be able to make it to this one either. I'm taking my girlfriend out for the day, it's her birthday. We are going to try to make at least one of the OCR D vs, G events aswell as the next SDR D vs. G event.

I just happened to look at the track map for this auto-x, some one is getting very fansy with the character designs on the top of the page :roflmao: took me about 20 min to realize that it is Mr. Steve Eguina and Myself haha, thats good stuff.

Dan Andrews!! your our only hope! ( Never thought i would be saying that  haha ) I am praying that you still have membership as an SDR member, not OCR...

You guys n gals have fun,

Erik, Peter, Dave - we will miss you.

Yikes! I never thought about the possibility of the yellow jersey going to OCR!

Maybe I need to put my muffler back on. Seriously, I doubt I can beat Steve's Gazillion Horse Power GT2.

Well, I will probably not make it either, unless by some miracle my tires get here by saturday.

Dave , you can do it! I came within an eyelash of beating steve in the GT2, I did beat his wife and son, at an OC event.

Good luck to everyone!

Erik,
You are walking a fine line-its hard to be a serious car guy and a lover also. At some point you may have to choose-or maybe you already have!

Ouch! Not touching that one. Lucky for the rest of us, most of you TTOD boys don't affect the BRI race anyway. Where is Jess O? Kim? Lucky Dave?

I'll be there to do my part. Unfortunately my car rarely does well in the east lot but I'll give it my best effort.
The thing is, a turbocharged engine has a very low mechanical compression ratio so there is effectively no power at all off boost. At the last east lot AX, I heard someone yelling at me to get a move on exiting an extra slow corner, and in my rear view mirror I saw an Amish farmer  .

I will be there, but my tires have turned to rocks. After CFoS, several AXs, and the Coronado DE last weekend, I am slippin' and slidin' on the street - there just aren't any heat cycles left in them. :surr: Now if we are having a drifting competition, they might work...
