Fontana would be easier to set up, manage and run for the DE chairs and it's a great track. Coronado was very warm at this time of year even thought it's basically on the water. Fontana would have been about 100+ degrees on the same day and the drive would have been longer for most of us. Glad we did it and hope we can again (for less $$) in the future.

Fontana....
- pick up trailer after work the day before.
- figure out how to load car in the dark on unfamiliar trailer without damage.
- wake up extra early
- drive 1-1/2 hours (on a good day)
- have tons 'o fun
- drive 1-1/2 hours (or 3-1/2 if the traffic sucks)
- unload in the dark
- return borrowed trailer next day after work (note: this event now takes up three days)
- fill up truck with more gas money than I would have saved by the reduced entry fee at Fontana

Coronado.....
- wake up
- drive to track
- have tons 'o fun
- drive home

Coronado, No travel...a PLUS, PLUS, PLUS

I also think the second time you do something like this...the bugs get worked out.

I.m with Jackie on Fontana. This event was cool, and having non-pcars to hound was cool, too. But Fontana had more seat time and was more fun overall. I would do both, obviously, but if I had to pick between the two I would choose Fontana.

My two cents.

Hey, everyone needs a goal right? So I am an optimist. :D I like a good challenge. See you at Spring Mountain Jackie.
As to the Fontana/Coronado question, I choose Fontana: Safer track, ideal facility for DE (duh), more time on track.

I know it was horrible... but I miss Holtville. It was the Mescal of racetracks.

Holtville was/is a lot like this only with no K-rail...really a safer place to teach driving.

But this was sure fun! I can't wait to do it again.

Holtville
that's another story...
but i like the way you think. :D

coronado is another track ... (short track) i'l take any track if i can put it on my resume. k-rails, tire WALLS, what-ever...part of track,
leave it alone, learn it...love it (or not)

i don't think laguna will modify the cork-screw cause some can't get a good launch...

thanks for a great time... :beerchug:

I'm all in for another day at Coronado. It was a great mix of let-it-hang-out and be-careful, with some corners that could really come alive if you hit them well. Plus, it's so convenient. Sign me up. Martin's the man!

Good Times. I don't know if anyone else walked to the end of Straight on spectator side, but the Red Group looked and Sound Hot!
Lotta fun. Walls were a little serious, but then that's racing. Thanks Martin and DE team for all your hard work! Let's do it again.
