Willow TT Survey

Postby Robert on Mon Nov 23, 2009 2:05 pm

As announced this weekend, our first event of 2010 is currently scheduled to be three days at Willow Springs, all on the 2.5 mile road course (the "big track"), where we haven't had back-to-back days in quite some time. Current dates booked are Fri-Sun Jan 29-31. Turns out it's alternatively possible that we can do two days at the big track followed by one day at Streets. This would be Sat-Sun Jan 30-31 at the big track and Mon Feb 1 at Streets. Assume three days at the big track are considered one event and the big willow/Streets combo is considered two events (from a points perspective), but the three days cost the same in total either way. Four days total is not an option. Please participate in the poll below so we can schedule appropriately only if you will actually participate in the choice you select. The poll will be open through mid-day Saturday. Thanks.

I voted for 3 days of Big Willow but would like to suggest two TT's-one Saturday and one Sunday. Friday is practice day

I also am in favor of having timed runs on the two different tracks on Saturday and Sunday, and would prefer Fri/Sat at Big, and Sun at Streets.

I think everyone would love that but it's not an option. The only day that Streets is available to us between Jan 29 and Feb 1 is Mon Feb 1.

While I would much rather run the big track over streets... 3 days at one track is a bit excessive.

I would like to see the standard schedule at the big track (Fri/Sat) and a single day time trial at streets (Mon) with the last practice session's best time be your official lap time. This will give the most time for a one day event.

Steve
I am missing something here. What are you going to do on Sunday? Do you you mean Sat/Sun practice and TT at the big track and Streets TT Monday?

OK, seems pretty clear the majority of people prefer a two-track event, so that's what we'll do. And I have some good news...Streets just opened up to us today for Friday January 29 so the event will be as follows:

Friday January 29 - Streets of Willow practice with late afternoon timed runs
Saturday January 30 - Big Willow all day practice sessions
Sunday January 31 - Big Willow practice with standard mid afternoon timed runs

This is a done deal and a double points weekend (due to 2 TT's). Registration will open on motorsportreg.com tomorrow morning December 1st at 9:00 am PST. Sign up for one, two or all three days. The more you sign up for, the cheaper it is per day. Note that Streets always sells out and we have a 60 car maximum, so sign up soon. Direct link is below.

Note also we are also starting a new program for 2010 known as the Season Pass. Read the highlighted information carefully on the first page that the link takes you to for complete details. This program costs you nothing up front, you simply commit to it and save $$$ all year long. Free limited edition T-shirt too!

The remainder of the season will be confirmed once we have contracts in place with the various tracks.
