I see they put the chicane in after the infield dog-leg (turn 9 is it?) and before the infield straight. Boy I like that section. I hope the DE chairs instigate that chicane at the DE in May. It makes for a nice transition onto the straight, and keeps the overall speeds down a little going off of the infield straight (easier on the brake pads). Maybe we can get a consensus on having that chicane before the infield straight? Just a thought for another thread.

What Mark said. In my day, driving in the Instructor's class with a 3200-Lb, 125-RWHP 944 "Great White Wonder" I was always in traffic, and always passed/"challenged" through the chicane. Flat out? Yeah, in my dreams. I was actually forced off-track there (Steve G. remembers the front sway-bar repairs, yes?). So ... now that the chances are slim that I'll have "as much" trouble through there ... maybe flat out is an option.

Regardless, are you all saying you don't want the chicane?

Already done. I called the track on Monday after the CFoS and asked them to back them off the apex for the DE and use tall cones to define the apex, one filled with concrete....

So the chicane will be in? Sweet!

Instead of a concrete-filled cone, borrow Carl Scragg's "Magic Cone" and give the controller to the Corner Worker! Now that would be fun to watch!

And from what I remember, Chuck and Leigh have it out for those tire barriers. Right, Chuck?
